Somehow Somewhere

Alejandro Rodriguez Sardiñas

(in colobaration with art gallery Beddington Fine Art, France)
Born in Havana, Alejandro obtained his degree at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Alejandro (1992). You can find work of Alejandro Rodriguez Sardiñas in galleries and private collections throughout many countries; e.g., Australia, Cuba, French Guyana, Germany, Chile, Brazil, France, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Denmark, United States, Canada, Japan and Madagascar. Alejandro offers us his own unique interpretation of illusive landscapes. Long before drones were a common thing, Alejandro had a clear vision of how landscapes could be seen from the sky. Cuba and Guyana, where he lived for several years, are his main source of inspiration. Nature is omni-present in his delicate imaginary landscapes. His canvases surprise us with their depth and perspective, combining vivid colour contrasts and a very personal technique. Combined, this creates the illusion that these landscapes are real photographs. His collages underline the effect of encroachment of the modern world on nature, which is gradually reclaiming its rights. Rather than to describe his paintings, it may be more effective to underline the emotions that inspired their creation: “We are as a bird discovering the terrain from the sky”.
